Activepieces has upgraded its infrastructure by switching its default package manager from NPM/PNPM to Bun, dramatically speeding up development and execution. With over 5,000 packages, installation times now drop from about 10 minutes to just 60 seconds, and bulk installs of over 5,400 pieces take only 1–2 minutes. Pieces load at boot time, leading to instant flow execution, while coordinated workers keep caches warm and eliminate previous delays. Bun’s fast TypeScript compiler also improves code compilation speed from 2 seconds to less than 100 milliseconds. Additional improvements include isolated dependencies per piece directory, simpler setup, and retained support for local development workflows. Developers should now run npm installs within individual piece folders. Overall, these changes deliver a much faster and smoother experience for the Activepieces community.
